Flavor Insights was founded by a team that understands what it takes to build successful food and beverage brands from the inside out.
Long before Flavor Insights existed, the Pickett family launched and built one of the most recognized protein beverage brands in the industry: Muscle Milk. They later sold to a well-known CPG company. That experience — from formulation and product development to commercialization and brand growth — shaped the foundation of what Flavor Insights would become.
Today, Flavor Insights is a full-service flavor house specializing in beverage flavor development, flavor systems, spray-dried flavors, and commercialization support for modern food and beverage brands.

From protein innovation to flavor development leadership.
The journey behind Flavor Insights began decades ago through a passion for protein architecture, flavor science, and beverage innovation. Greg Pickett, alongside his children, Nikki Brown and Michael Pickett, helped pioneer protein beverage development during the rise of the ready-to-drink sports nutrition market. Their work contributed to the development and growth of Muscle Milk, which ultimately became one of the category’s most recognized brands.
